U.S. investors led by Newark mayor explore investment opportunities in Ghana


A delegation of . investors led by Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka has visited the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry to explore investment opportunities in Ghana and strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

The delegation is in Ghana at the invitation of the as part of activities marking the Ga State Festival. The visit also seeks to provide investors with firsthand knowledge of Ghana’s business environment and investment prospects.

Welcoming the delegation on behalf of President and Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister , Deputy Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to attracting foreign investment.

He highlighted Ghana’s stable democracy, peaceful business environment and strong economic fundamentals, describing the country as an attractive destination for investment in .

Hon. Ahi also noted that the extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act () offers significant opportunities for investors seeking to establish businesses in Ghana and access international markets.

He encouraged the delegation to explore opportunities in agribusiness, energy and infrastructure, sectors he said offer strong potential for growth and partnership.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mayor Baraka expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to building mutually beneficial partnerships with Ghana.

He also invited the Ministry to participate in a Festival and Business Summit scheduled for October in , which will bring together investors, business leaders and policymakers from both countries.
