BENJAMIN QUASHIE RECIEVES APPOINTMENT INSTRUMENT TO START WORK…

His Excellency Benjamin Kofi Quashie served as the Chair of the Council of Elders for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in South Africa. While the NDC was in opposition, he was a vocal critic of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by President Nana Akufo-Addo. Following the NDC’s victory in the 2024 Ghanaian general election, Quashie became a strong advocate for the administration of President John Mahama.

He has been particularly critical of the previous government’s handling of illegal mining—commonly referred to as galamsey—describing it as a failed effort. HE Quashie has expressed confidence in President Mahama’s commitment to eradicating the practice, stating that the current administration is genuinely dedicated to addressing the issue.

In June 2025, President Mahama appointed Benjamin Quashie as Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa and October 1st 2025 receives his appointment instrument from His Excellency John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra.

Benjamin Kofi Quashie is the founder and executive chairman of the BKQ Foundation, a Ghana-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing relief and support to individuals and communities in deprived areas. Through the foundation, Mr. Quashie has spearheaded numerous impactful projects, including support for the Demonstration School for the Deaf in Mampong and the donation of an electric wheelchair to Wonder Ahialome, a young boy with a disability who previously had to walk several kilometers to school using crutches.

Driven by a passion for social change and economic empowerment, HE Quashie sees entrepreneurship as a vehicle for creating meaningful impact. As both a reserve banker and entrepreneur, he is committed to using his skills and resources to develop innovative solutions to societal challenges. A husband and father, he is inspired by a deep sense of purpose and a belief that businesses can—and should—be a force for good.

For HE. Quashie, entrepreneurship is not merely about profit, but about transforming lives and communities through bold ideas, social investment, and a commitment to doing things differently.

Growing up in a modest household, HE. Quashie experienced a unique and formative childhood. Raised by a devoted single mother who worked tirelessly to support her family, he is the youngest of four siblings. From an early age, he drew wisdom and strength from his older brothers, who instilled in him valuable life lessons through both words and actions. Though the journey was not without its challenges, these early experiences taught Mr. Quashie the importance of hard work, resilience, and the enduring value of family support.

These lessons have profoundly shaped the person he is today—grateful, grounded, and driven. His upbringing instilled a deep sense of responsibility and a strong moral compass that continue to guide him in all aspects of his life.

Ghasaweb.com chanced on his social media account and HE Quarshie says “As I face the next chapter in my life, I cannot thank Jehovah God enough. God has been in my story from day one. I pray for more grace, wisdom and peace now than ever. As a young boy born and raised in Accra New Town, my story is one of resilience and focus. Those who know me will attest to the fact I have endured much but never gave up. The good, the bad and the ugly all shaped me. Jehovah didn’t say maybe-He said, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. To all my family, friends, loved ones and even my enemies-Thank you! You all made this possible! Now this is the new beginning”.

To HE. Quashie, living a life guided by these values is more than a choice; it is a purpose. He firmly believes that a principled life, rooted in integrity, leads to deeper fulfilment and a more impactful existence.
