COMAC and Tamale Technical University partner to boost Petroleum Marketing Education

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has initiated a strategic collaboration with Tamale Technical University to strengthen petroleum marketing education in Ghana.

The COMAC team led by the CEO of COMAC, Dr. Riverson Oppong, together with the Chamber’s Head of Policy & Regulation M. Issah and Head of Research & Development,Samuel Wristberg, held discussions with a lecturer at  the University Abdul-Fatahi Abubakari on areas of partnership that include student internships and industry attachments, guest lectures and workshops, joint research, curriculum development support, staff training, and marketing competitions.

Dr. Oppong explained that the partnership is in line with COMAC’s mission to build capacity and support innovation in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

“This collaboration reflects COMAC’s commitment to advancing local content, driving industry excellence, and preparing the next generation of professionals for Ghana’s evolving energy landscape. We look forward to a strong partnership with Tamale Technical University to foster innovation, professionalism, and capacity-building,” he said.

On his part, Mr. Abubakari emphasized the relevance of the University’s newly introduced Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Marketing programme.

“The program is uniquely designed to blend academic rigor with practical training in fuel marketing, pricing, supply chain logistics, compliance, and customer service. Our aim is to equip graduates with the industry knowledge and skills required to meet the growing demand for professionals in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector,” he stated.
