The FIFA Member Association (MA) Elite Refereeing Course has concluded successfully in Ghana after six days of intensive training aimed at raising officiating standards and preparing referees for top-level football.

Held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the programme brought together 37 referees and assistant referees from across the country for a series of technical, physical and practical sessions designed to enhance their performance.

The FIFA-led course focused on key aspects of modern officiating, including decision-making, match management, positioning, teamwork, communication and the application of the Laws of the Game. Participants also took part in video analysis sessions, fitness assessments and practical exercises to sharpen their skills.

The training was conducted by FIFA Technical Instructor Essameldin Abdelfattah Hassan Abdelhamid of Egypt and FIFA Fitness Instructor Bento Tomas Navesse of Mozambique, who guided the officials through the latest international refereeing standards and expectations.

The instructors praised the participants for their commitment, discipline and eagerness to learn throughout the six-day programme.

The referees also expressed appreciation to FIFA and the Ghana Football Association for the opportunity, describing the course as an important step in their professional development.

The successful completion of the programme forms part of the GFA’s efforts to strengthen refereeing in Ghana by equipping elite officials with the knowledge, fitness and confidence required to officiate at both domestic and international competitions.
