President John Dramani Mahama delivered the opening and closing remarks at the Rethinking Health roundtable during the Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi.
The summit was co-hosted by William Ruto and Emmanuel Macron and brought together leaders and stakeholders to discuss Africa’s development priorities, particularly in the health sector.
In his address, President Mahama highlighted the “Accra Reset” agenda as a strategic framework designed to strengthen partnerships, improve coordination and promote results-driven collaboration across the continent.
According to the President, the initiative reflects Africa’s growing commitment to rethinking traditional development approaches, especially in healthcare delivery and policy implementation.
He also called for a shift from discussions to concrete action, stressing the need for collective commitment and coordinated efforts to address the continent’s health challenges.
