FC Nordjaelland fight Ghana FA over release of talented forward Prince Amoako for Mexico friendly – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Danish top-flight side FC Nordjaelland are dragging their feet to release Ghanaian forward Prince Amoako Junior for the upcoming international friendly match against Mexico.

The 19-year-old forward has been rewarded for his outstanding performance for Nordjaelland this season, earning his first Black Stars invitation for the pre-World Cup friendly scheduled for May 22, 2026.

However, Amoako’s quest of making his Ghana debut could delay, with Nordjaelland considering keeping the talented winger for the crucial season run-in.

Speaking to Danish outlet BOLD, Nordjaelland coach Jens Fønsskov Olsen expressed pride over Amoako’s recognition while acknowledging the growing uncertainty surrounding his availability for the international break.

”I think I’m super proud that he’s been selected. He’s worked hard and had some really good performances in the Super League. We’re also really happy that he can play for the national team at such an early age.”

”Then we have to see how the other thing can be resolved. Of course, that’s outside the window, and we have to see if we have a fight or not. Of course, we have seen and noted it, but right now we are most pleased with what has happened.”

This season, the in-demand attacker has racked up nine goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances across competitions for Nordjaelland, signaling his growing influence in the Danish outfit.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Amoako Jnr has emerged as a top transfer target for several clubs in Europe including Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United, who are reportedly ready to snatch up the talented forward.
