Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah delivered a standout performance to earn the Most Valuable Player award after powering Minnesota United FC to a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Columbus Crew in the MLS on Sunday night.
The 25-year-old striker, nephew of Ghana legend Tony Yeboah, was instrumental as the Loons overturned a two-goal deficit to secure all three points in front of their home fans.
Minnesota found themselves trailing before Yeboah stepped up with a clinical brace to ignite the comeback.
He pulled one back just after the hour mark, cleverly slipping between two defenders to apply a composed finish from a flicked assist by Markanich.
Moments later, the former Italy U21 international restored parity with a well-timed header, connecting perfectly from a Joaquin Pereyra corner in the 66th minute to make it 2-2.
Minnesota went on to complete the turnaround, sealing a memorable victory with Yeboah’s contributions proving decisive.
Following his impressive display, Yeboah was deservedly voted MVP by the club’s supporters.
As part of the recognition, he will receive USD 1,000 to support a charity initiative of his choice.
The former Genoa and Augsburg forward continues to shine in the MLS, underlining his importance to Minnesota United’s attacking setup with consistent performances this season.
