For more than six decades, civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ghana have been largely sustained by foreign donors. From the early days of our independence struggle to the consolidation of multi-party democracy, donor funding enabled CSOs to champion human rights, good governance, environmental protection, consumer rights, and poverty reduction.
