The 18th Ghana Premier Business and Finance Excellence Awards and 8th Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards ceremony convened at Accra’s Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, organized by Top Brass Ghana.
Under the theme “Business and Finance – Responding to the Challenges of Internal and External Pressures,” industry leaders addressed resilience strategies amid economic headwinds.
Mr. Stephane Miezan, President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chaired the event, outlining critical pressures facing enterprises. He identified internal challenges—financial management, operational inefficiencies, and talent retention—alongside external factors like economic uncertainty, regulatory shifts, and market competition.
Miezan urged businesses to adopt robust risk frameworks, enhance financial systems, invest in visionary planning, and cultivate continuous improvement. He emphasized proactive strategies to ensure long-term sustainability.
Nana Dr. Baa Wiredu, representing absent Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, commended awardees for elevating Ghana’s economic landscape. He advocated for technological integration and artificial intelligence mastery to drive competitiveness, stressing internally led leadership development. Wiredu further highlighted creativity, proactive innovation, and strategic partnerships as pillars for growth.
Isaac Dakwa, Director of Top Brass Ghana, noted the awards’ origins in Ghana’s 2007 Golden Jubilee celebrations. Twenty-six entities and leaders received honors, including corporate gold awards spanning banking, agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing.
The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana secured the highest accolade, the Platinum Award, for fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing. Business leader gold awards recognized figures in catering, planning, lottery management, rural banking, and mining. Lifetime achievement honors were posthumously bestowed on Dr. Torgbor Mensah, founder of DDP Group, and awarded to Dr. Kwame Kyei, CEO of Unity Group, for contributions to energy, tourism, and media.
