Police Ladies goal in Cote d’Ivoire is to qualify for main CAF Women’s Champions League tournament – Basigi – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Police Ladies head coach Yusif Basigi has outlined a clear mission for his side as they prepare for the 2025 WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers, insisting their sole aim in Côte d’Ivoire is to secure a ticket to the main continental competition.

Ghana’s Women’s Premier League champions will compete in Group B against Nigerian giants Bayelsa Queens, Togo’s Association Sportive de la Kozah and Benin’s Sam Nelly.

The qualifiers will run from Saturday, August 23, to September 4, in Yamoussoukro.

Although admitting that his side has been placed in one of the toughest groups, Basigi maintained that underrating any opponent would be a costly mistake.

“We are not underestimating or overestimating anyone because every club earned their place,” he told Graphic Sports.

“But our focus is to take each match as it comes and fight for the ultimate. We are going to Côte d’Ivoire to qualify; that’s the mindset.”

The winner from the tournament will progress to the CAF Women’s Champions League later this year, a competition Police Ladies are eager to reach after sealing their place as Ghana’s domestic champions.
