Accra, Ghana – In a remarkable act of corporate philanthropy and humanitarian commitment, philanthropists Chairman Ningquan Xu of Sentuo Group and Mohammed Raii of the Eezzy Group Foundation have donated ten fully equipped ambulances together with a sophisticated operational pickup vehicle to the Ghana Police Service to strengthen emergency medical response, police healthcare delivery and life-saving operations nationwide.
The donation, officially received by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, represents far more than the presentation of vehicles. It is a direct investment in the safety, health and dignity of the Ghanaian people.

Across Ghana, emergency medical transport continues to face significant pressure. Long travel distances, increasing road traffic accidents, growing urban populations and unequal distribution of emergency vehicles have all contributed to delays in reaching patients, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Parliament, healthcare experts and emergency medicine researchers have repeatedly highlighted the need for stronger ambulance capacity, improved referral systems and additional emergency logistics to reduce preventable deaths.
While Ghana’s emergency medical system has expanded considerably over the years, the demand for ambulances continues to exceed available resources in many parts of the country. This reality makes every additional ambulance a valuable national asset.
IGP: “These Ambulances Are Going to Save Lives”
Addressing guests during the presentation ceremony, Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno expressed profound appreciation to the donors, describing the intervention as one that will immediately improve emergency response across Ghana.
“We say thank you so much for this donation. These ambulances are going to be used to save lives.”
The IGP announced that the ambulances would be distributed immediately across the country, ensuring that regions with pressing needs benefit without delay.
“We are going to distribute these ambulances throughout the whole country and throughout our hospitals. We will send one to Tamale in the North.”
Recalling previous operational challenges, the IGP acknowledged the difficulties encountered when emergency transport was unavailable.
“The last time I was in Tamale, it was very difficult. Today, I can confidently tell them we now have an ambulance.”
He assured the nation that the Ghana Police Service possesses the personnel and technical capacity to maintain and operate the fleet effectively.
“We have the men and the team to take good care of them.”
The IGP stressed that the donation extends well beyond the welfare of police officers.
The ambulances will be deployed to transport injured officers, emergency patients and members of the public requiring urgent medical evacuation, while the advanced pickup vehicle will strengthen operational policing and crime-fighting logistics.
“What we are seeing today is going to increase the number of vehicles to fight crime.”
“Fighting crime is for the people of this country.”
“The police are working very hard to make sure Ghana becomes a very safe country.”
He further noted that officers injured during operations or taken ill while on duty will now receive faster transportation to medical facilities, improving survival and recovery.
“This is what you have done to Ghana. You have assisted government to help us do our work in a safer way.”
