The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three former students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School for allegedly vandalising school property after completing their final examinations.

According to a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, school authorities lodged a complaint on June 19, 2026, after a viral video emerged showing about five recent graduates damaging the school’s water pipeline shortly after writing their final papers.

Following the complaint, the Regional Police Command launched an intelligence-led operation, which led to the arrest of three suspects. They have been identified as Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 19, Alhassan Mohammed, 20, and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20.

The suspects have since been handed over to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department to assist with ongoing investigations and are expected to face criminal charges.

The police noted that incidents of students vandalising school property after completing their studies are becoming increasingly common and warned that anyone found engaging in such acts would face the full rigours of the law.

Authorities also disclosed that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects captured in the video.

The Volta North Regional Police Command further appealed to parents, guardians and teachers to continue educating and guiding young people on the consequences of vandalism and other destructive behaviour.
