Ghana launches first e-visa service on Africa Day


President has launched Ghana’s first e-visa service, scheduled to go live on May 25, 2026, Day.

The initiative is a joint programme involving the , the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport.

The launch event is set for 9:00 a.m. at the Kempinski Coast Hotel in .

According to the announcement, the system is designed to allow applicants to apply online for a Ghana e-visa as part of efforts to promote tourism and improve ease of travel into the country.

It was also stated that Africans will not pay for visas to visit Ghana.
