Interconnecting concourse to enhance passenger movement at airport

During the sod-cutting ceremony for the interconnecting concourse, President John Mahama explained that when the concourse is completed, “we will deliver the following: five passenger boarding air bridges, modern waiting and holding areas, premium and VIP lounge, retail and commercial facilities, and enhanced passenger services and infrastructure.”

He said the project will transform how passengers move within the airport, enabling seamless, secure and efficient connectivity between the two terminals. The President added that the development will also improve aircraft turnaround time, enhance passenger handling at transit points, and elevate overall service quality.

President Mahama further noted that the vision extends beyond aeronautical operations. “We are advancing plans for a seven-storey, 2,000-car multi-storey car park at Terminal 3, which will incorporate retail and dining areas, a sky-view lounge, conference rooms and business spaces,” he said.

He explained that the development will ease parking constraints, expand capacity, support the 24-hour economy policy, and also create jobs.
