Ghana has recorded 181 pedestrian deaths within the first four months of 2026, heightening alarm over worsening road safety and reckless driving nationwide. Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Joshua Kwasi Quist, described the rising pedestrian knockdowns as a public safety emergency requiring swift, coordinated action.
